AI is in events already – so use it with purpose, or don’t use it at all

Erggh, not another article about AI in events, am I right?

Recently, I brought together senior industry leaders from the event and experiential sector, to explore the ever-evolving world of AI.

Huge thankyou to Kathryn Williams and the team at Corrigan’s Mayfair for the fantastic hospitality, amazing environment and delicious food.

We kicked off with a thought-provoking presentation from Paul Hannah (Director Of Creative Strategy) at Aspect Events & Communications, who brought much-needed clarity to the conversation. He broke down the evolution of AI – from the narrow AI we’re all working with now, to the idea of super intelligence that may or may not ever exist.

💥 Tools namechecked on the day included:

💥 MonkeyLearn for analysing open-ended feedback

💥 Keras AI for measuring real-time facial expressions and dwell time

💥 Surreal Events for personalised attendee journeys

💥 Density and Legion Technologies for spatial planning and staffing

💥 Cohere and Contentful for hyper-personalised post-event comms

💥 Unity for building digital twins and immersive event simulations

These aren’t future dreams. These are tools that real event agencies are exploring and using now. But again, the message from all four speakers was clear: don’t jump in blindly. Use AI to solve specific problems, not to chase a buzzword.

As a specialist recruiter, I’ve been told for decades that some piece of tech will replace me, and just like before, the only people it will replace are those who have made themselves obsolete but if you embrace AI into your everyday, it WILL make your life easier.

Don’t be afraid, jump in.

I spend my time speaking to owners, HR leaders and C-suite decision makers across events, experiential and MICE, so what follows isn’t theory. It’s what’s actually happening on the ground. Q1 2026 has been shaped by the after-effects of last year’s mergers, a spike in...

Salary brackets on adverts say more than you think

Salary brackets on adverts say more than you think

The fastest way to lose a great candidate? Write “competitive salary” on the job advert.   Because for some reason, plenty of employers still think it’s acceptable to write “competitive salary” or “DOE” (depending on experience) and expect people to jump through...

Where will the leaders of tomorrow come from?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. as in the conversations I keep having behind the scenes, owners are nervous. Everyone’s talking about AI. About remote working. About efficiency, automation, scale., and they’re right to. None of that is going away, and...
