Don’t panic

I know it seems easy to say this, however, now is not the time to be having an existential career crisis.

My FREE 121 consultancy/support service has been enlightening in more ways than one, but something that I’m seeing regularly is people putting extra pressure on themselves during this CV19 sh*itstorm.

Furloughed/redundant = OMG what am I going to do next

Still employed = I’m using this as an opportunity to look at my next career move

Personally, I believe short, medium and long term career planning has changed entirely.

0-6 months (short) = do you have an income, food on the table and roof over your head.
That’s it. No matter where you work it doesn’t matter, just get through it

6-9 months (medium) = try to stay in the sector you know, stay relevant, visible and active
9 months (long) = now is the time to start thinking about what your big career plans are as only then will we really know what’s next, as if it’s not a vaccine then it’s therapeutic medicine and we can put this whole mess in our rear view mirror.
Point of this post;

It’s okay to not know what you’re doing next, it’s okay to be worried and concerned, however, your priorities right now need to be your mental and physical health and earning wherever/however you can without feeling like you’re letting yourself down.

Failing that, if you’re an #experientialmarketing or #eventprofs and you feel like you’ve hit a wall, click this link to my diary and let’s talk.

Where will the leaders of tomorrow come from?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. as in the conversations I keep having behind the scenes, owners are nervous. Everyone’s talking about AI. About remote working. About efficiency, automation, scale., and they’re right to. None of that is going away, and...
